Introduction

The CHR-U-S(-ES) and CHR-U(-E) are both filterless central hopper receivers that are an integral part of any central conveying system for trouble-free transportation of virgin pellets and regrind. There are two styles available to control the material level. Both styles have an internal sequencing valve that works with a central vacuum pump and central control to perform reliable, consistent production. A quick disconnect vacuum lid ensures fast, easy cleanup and maintenance (except for models CHR-48U and higher).

Vacuum Receiver Style: Vacuum hopper loader configuration with a magnetic reed switch and discharge valve.
Photosensor Receiver Style: Photosensor with a glass hopper that connects directly to the feed throat of a processing machine.

CHR-U-S(-ES) Standard Features
  • CHR-U-S(-ES) central hoppers are mainly used with Comet’s CAL-UG124 hopper loaders via a 6-pin plug, but can also be used in a central conveying system.
  • The CHR-U-S is suitable for mounting on a Comet dryer or storage tank as a receiver for central material conveying.
  • The CHR-U-ES is equipped with a glass tube at the bottom and is suitable for mounting at the inlet of a molding machine to ensure there is no material shortage during the suction process.
  • 100% corrosion-free stainless steel hoppers prevent pellet contamination and increase the loader’s lifespan.
  • A reed switch on the vacuum hopper guarantees material is supplied on time, without interruption.
  • A photosensor switch accurately controls the loading process.
  • A vacuum diaphragm valve inside the loader ensures continuous material loading, prevents material shortages, and enables the loader to be auto-controlled by a centralized system without additional wiring.
  • An internal stainless steel mesh filter prevents dust and fines, and other contaminates from being sucked into the vacuum line.
CHR-U-S(-ES) Options
  • Multifunctional HMB-900 installation frame with 35-1/2″ (900mm) adjustable selection range.
  • Storage collection hopper or heat-insulated collection hopper for direct mounting at the inlet of an injection molding machine.
  • Non-return valve or pneumatic non-return valve prevents the central conveying system from leaking when several central loaders share the same material pipeline.
CHR-U(-E) Standard Features
  • CHR-U(-E) central hoppers are mainly used with Comet’s CAL-UG hopper loaders via a 6-pin plug or Comet’s CCD compact dryers via a 4-pin plug.
  • The CHR-U is suitable for mounting on a Comet dryer or storage tank as a receiver for central material conveying.
  • The CHR-U-E is equipped with a glass tube at the bottom and is suitable for mounting at the inlet of a molding machine.
  • 100% corrosion-free stainless steel hoppers prevent pellet contamination and increase the loader’s lifespan.
  • An internal vacuum sequencing valve inside the loader ensures continuous material loading, prevents material shortages, and enables the loader to be auto-controlled by a centralized system without additional wiring.
  • A photosensor switch accurately controls the loading process.
  • An internal stainless steel mesh filter prevents dust and fines, and other contaminates from being sucked into the vacuum line.
CHR-U(-E) Options
  • Air accumulator auto washing device to remove contaminates in recycled material (models CHR-12U and above).
  • Multifunctional HMB-900 installation frame with 35-1/2″ (900mm) adjustable selection range.
  • Quick mixing valve provides proportioning/layering of materials (works in conjunction with Comet’s CPV-U proportioning valve).
  • Filter to use as an auto-purging device.
